Coroner Barcus was summoned to Darlington this morning to hold
an inquest in the case of Mrs. John McCLURE who was found dead
there this morning in her own bedroom. Mrs. McClure was a strong
and apparently healthy woman of about 20, having married John
McClure about a year ago last July. She was in seemingly good
health this morning when her husband went to his work, he being a
plumber. An hour later she was found dead in the bedroom. It is
supposed that death was accidentally caused by the use of some
drug, the properties of which she was ignorant. - typed by kbz

Dr. Barcus is home from Darlington where he went to hold an inquest over the remains of Mrs. Jno. McClure who died very suddenly yesterday. Mrs. McClure was 21 years of age and in excellent health. Her neighbors found her yesterday morning in her bed room dead. Mrs. McClure's death was similar to that of Mrs. Brown's of this city who was found dead in her bedroom west of the college campus last summer, except she used no drugs, nor instruments but simply cold water which so shocked her nervous system as to cause her sudden death. The coroners jury rendered a verdict in accordance with these facts. - typed by kbz

Assumedly this is Lydia A. Wilson who married John Hiatt McClure on 4 July 1894 in Garfield, Indiana by Rev. A.W. Wainscott
On their Marriage Bk 2 p 18 (License 13 p 71) his parents are listed as Willis and Matilda Hiatt. He was born in Darlington and is age 30 1st marriage.
She was born in Attica, Indiana was age 19 and her 1st marriage - Father: James WIlson and Mother Sarah Harper. She is buried at the Darlington IOOF cemetery. He is buried in Greelawn at Darlington. He was married twice afterwards. Born 22 Oct 1862 died 22 May 1928.
